@casabolanos: Uruguay’s NEW law… ‼️ ⚠️ TW: talks of d3@th Uruguay has become the first Latin American country to pass a Euthanasia bill in their government. While countries like Colombia y Ecuador have decriminalized it for terminal diagnosis, Uruguay will now allow citizens 18 and older to choose to end their suffering from chronic, long term, or incurable illnesses regardless of it being terminal or not Those with mental illnesses like depression must be analyzed by TWO doctors to assure they are of the mental capacity to qualify. Minors do NOT qualify Agree or not, this further aligns with Uruguay’s progressive policies that put the people’s wellbeing first, above profit or government interests Follow @casabolanos for more on life in Uruguay 🇺🇾 - Uruguay, life abroad, Latin America, progressive politics #uruguay #uruguayblogger #lifeabroad #latinamerica #latinoamérica

Good! I’m also glad to hear that religion doesn’t have a deathgrip on the government.

I watched my dad beg for it to end for months. It would have been a mercy to give him this option. He passed from pancreatic cancer

To be honest that should not be controversial the pain people go through when having lifelong diseases its very painful to watch even as the person's family

I think it's wonderful. I'm a nurse who helps pts with MAiD & I think it's the most beautiful, compassionate, dignified part of Canada's healthcare system. To allow someone to end their suffering is humane ❤
