I grew up on a farm. Full disclosure, I’ve benefited from the welfare checks. Farmers always ask for bailouts, they are the first with their hand out. Don’t fall for this shit on pinning handouts wants on someone else. Go to https://farm.ewg.org/ to look up all the handouts of farmers in your county under the farm database. Don’t want handouts? Work harder, isn’t that the line? Bootstraps being pulled up or something. This is called section 8 farming.

cash prices are within 30 cents of prices at planting, if it was unprofitable at planting and you still planted them you were gambling... I say no bailout for anyone, let the guys that run up cash rent take it in the shorts and move on. the weak boys that go on the news whining they aren't making money really drag down the farming community

I dont farm so I dont know if this is true or not but I have seen several farmers on this app saying prices are actually about 10-15 cent higher this year. what makes it so bad is just the price of seed, fertilizer, land and equipment

I’m a very small time farmer. When I looked at the prices of soybeans in April I decided to grow hay instead. Why would I put seed in the ground knowing that I was going to be in the red?
