i wonder if healing from exploitative systems would reduce relational harm… or if maybe living in a society that rewards narcissism breeds a whole population of fearful, disconnected people labeling each other instead of seeing their intersections. 🤷🏾

💯💯 this has happened to me my whole life. in narc family, w "friends" (who were in secret competition or bullys / downright evil af ops w no empathy, just trying to hurt a random innocent person) w strangers at school, abusive teachers, even in stores from random ppl who decide to just be mean for no reason. if I ask a polite question or am forced to communicate w coworkers. –ppl project so much hate for no reason, and are cruel to a random stranger. I don't understand why. but it's happened my whole life, and has had effects on my mental health. (which I'm sure is the people who do that to someone is intentionally "their goal to hurt someone and make them feel left out". –so obvi I'd never give them the satisfaction of showing it. [id honestly usually laught at them in the moment, ignore them ignoring me 🤣 and move on.] but later at times id be dissapointed? and be like "really?" why are ppl such dicks and so immature?" its so cruel For No Reason. 😞🥺💔 legit so nasty. ive seen some do so much evil to go out of their way just to try to make someone feel i visible, excluded, unloved I still to this day dont understand how and why somone goes out of their way to do this to someone else. literally. like WHY?" ?? cuz I really don't understand.

I'm going through this right now and it sucks! I'm starving for basic communication but he just stares at me and nods his head when I try to talk to him. No affection. No hugs, kisses, or I love you unless it's convenient for him. I'm trying to break free of this abuse though because if I don't it's only gonna get worse.

Sounds like my husband when he was ignoring me right in front of my face, even closing his eyes for a long time and giving me the silent treatment while I was miscarrying. Also, two weeks later his sister sent a text to the group chat saying she's pregnant with a baby boy. He knew about that before she announced but kept it from me. I felt so betrayed and left out. So he gets all happy for her while treating me like shit my whole pregnancy. Make it make sense! Thank you I needed to read this because I couldn't put what that type of behavior is into words.

Welcome to my world being Deaf. My wife purposefully witholds Sign language from me and likes to play nice on camera and in public, but never signs behind closed doors. She likes to drag me into hearing group seetings where I can't follow conversations, and she talks over top of me, or tells the others something embarrassing about me, or something I do poorly or am unskilled at or some sort of put-down and will speak it so I can't hear it. I've caught her doing that using the voice to text feature of my phone. She also expects me to participate in these groups settings by being silent and not speaking since my voice also annoys her. She knew I was Deaf when we met. She swore she'd learn ASL and she did. She just doesn't use it. And when I get her to use it, she gets irritated and angry at me. FML
