This may be a silly question, but does one sprouted potato ruin the whole bag?

they literally are coming from the store already sprouted 😭 and I've tried so many methods of storing to reduce but nothing seems to help. what do you do for storing? I know I need to find a better store but that's a different conversation look

Small sprouts are fine, clean them off and cut any part off. If shriveled or discolored throw it away. Store in cool, dry place to prevent potatoes from sprouting. Don't stress if there are a few on the potatoes.

Sprouts are not the problem, when potatos turn green they become toxic

Robert :
The risk depends on the extent of sprouting and greening. Potatoes with small sprouts and no green discoloration may be safe to eat if the sprouts and any surrounding green parts are thoroughly removed. However, if the potatoes are shriveled, soft, or heavily sprouted, they should be discarded entirely. Some sources caution that even after removing sprouts, the toxins may be present throughout the potato, especially in older or more advanced sprouts.

Ririi :
Sprouted potatoes are not good for you in large quantities because they contain toxins called glycoalkaloids, which can cause food poisoning. While you can safely eat potatoes with a few small sprouts by cutting them off along with a small amount of the surrounding flesh, you should throw away potatoes that are heavily sprouted, have a green tint, or are soft and wrinkled.

That the stage you plant it in the garden, or a bucket with holes in the bottom. Then, after a while you have a bunch of freshly grown potatoes!
