I've always knocked the roll pins out and flipped them around on the old second gen work trucks

Just do a Yukon gear and axle CAD delete. Then it’s like an 02 axle or like the third gen’s that dont have the disconnect anyways.

Me personally I just flipped mine over so the front end is always locked, just pull the t case lever and it’s locked in

I done the Yukon axle shaft with vacuum delete plate now I shift in 4x4 and it’s there like a 3g truck

the amount of play on those shafts to slide the collar over is usually alarming on these old trucks too

Just put the e clip on the other side of the arm, block the lines off then only your t case shifts into 4 wheel drive I’ve done this on probably 10 2nd gen’s and never failed

You could have just locked it full time by pulling one C clip off the pin moving the fork all the way over into locked position then putting C clip back holding it locked in 4x4 forever.
