Watch til the end for a big baby smile ❤️ Josie is back in the hospital. Of course we were up north when my day nurse called and said she suspected Josie’s arm might be dislocated. I called the ER to see if they wanted me to bring her in (ERs scare me with all the germs and her sensitive respiratory system). They said bring her in so I dropped everything and hurried home from the cabin, leaving Trav, Autumn, and even Willow behind. I got home at almost 8 PM and reorganized and then reloaded the car with all of Josie’s travel gear. We weren’t to the hospital until almost 10:00. We finally made it into a room after x-rays and then it was a sit and wait game. They came back eventually with the news that Josie has ANOTHER broken arm (she broke the other one at birth) so now has broken each arm. They decided to admit her overnight to run some labs to check for vitamin deficiencies or hormone imbalances that might make her bones more brittle (they all came back fine) I had to leave Josie at the PICU so I could bring my night nurse back to my house to collect her car and head home. I didn’t actually make it to bed until after 5 AM 😮‍💨 I got up today, reorganized and repacked the car, took a shower, put yet another tank of gas in my car, and off I went again. I found Josie tired but in good spirits when I got to Children’s. She had just returned from her skeletal study where they stretch her out and do a series of x-rays to make sure she had no other fractures. She’s even been pretty generous with her big gummy smiles. We are expected to discharge today thankfully. Just waiting on my day nurse to get here so we can get her home and settled. They won’t cast a baby this young, they just want us to keep it bound close to her body so it isn’t moved too much. And there was no big accident that caused this. Her arms just can’t move like a normal baby’s arms and we think it happened while she was being moved from one position to another. So send prayers for a speedy recovery and comfort from pain!
