I work in HR and hiring managers won’t listen to us when we explain that extensive processes are not the way to go. But it’s because (at least in my company) that everyone in the team wants to be part of the recruitment and decision making. They are not trusting each other to make a decision, they don’t understand that not everyone can be part of everything and they don’t care how it looks to the outside world because they know that everyone will just blame HR.

IMO any company that does more than 2-3 rounds of interviews for anything other than a C level position is really not looking to hire. And for an entry level position it should be one interview period.
