You give me and my mom so much hope for the health care system that there are people out there who genuinely care about their patients. Thank you for all that you do and for allowing me to post this. @thomas fiero Here’s the background story. My moms labs came back and she was low on hemoglobin again for the 4th time in two months so she needed a blood transfusion right away. This would be her 4th time getting one and we needed to go to the ER. Dr. Fiero was our ER doctor and he did such an incredible job with us. He called my moms oncologist and asked for every detail about her case before he came and spoke with us and normally he keeps blood transfusion patients in the hospital overnight but him and the oncologist agreed to let my mom go home after the transfusion to be with family. When he called the oncologist they talked about my TikTok and how I spread cancer awareness through my own cancer journey as well as my mom’s and he got really emotional hearing about our situation that we’ve had to deal with cancer twice back to back with no break inbetween. He then gave us his personal phone number and even texted us the night we got home and asked us if my mom was doing okay after the transfusion. I’ve never seen a doctor show this level of care for his patients before. We love you and appreciate you so much Dr. Fiero. Thank you for making us feel safe in such an awful situation.
