These are pretty cool. Just behind the main you'll see the intake. The airflow is then run down the tail boom. Then the slots are opened in the direction required by the pedals. Just like the MD90.

Nonsense. The second set of blades is hidden in the boom and forms a fan that takes in air from the distinctive opening on top of the boom root and pushes it out at the tail to counter-act the main rotor torque. This technology is 40 years old. And yes, your feet are still needed to fly it.
