Myself and family have owned 8 kia/hyundai vehicles from 2008-2025. None have had any issues. 3 have gone over 200k miles. I work in a shop and regular see Kias 10k-20k miles overdue for oil change. That's owner fault, not Kia. But they'll blame kia when it fails.

I bought mine used and within a week the engine gave out. They replaced the engine and forced me to keep the car.

I love my Sante Fe BUT I had my engine blow about 2 months ago and Hyuandai did replace and paid for tow and rental.

The owners are probably lazy with oil changes, and put in 87 octane. They're the lowest priced vehicles, the owners are not going to be big spenders when it comes to maintaining them.

My Hyundai engine just seized at only 100,000km 😏 so I’d say this is 100% accurate I’m extremely distraught I cannot take on a new car payment right now and I don’t think it’s going to be covered 😭

agree with you. im in the UK we see tons coming in with blown up engines, clutches, gearbox. Hyundai/Kia are what we call in the trade "disposable items"

He is 💯on point!! I have a 2015 KIA Optima and my engine seized at roughly 98K miles! I bought it in to Firestone to get new tires & wheel alignment that morning & told him I was hearing some funny noises. He took it for a test drive & the car just died in the middle of the road 🤦🏻♀️Luckily, it was still under warranty & KIA gave me a brand new engine & intake valve. Other than that the car is solid & drives great!
