So John, John-kin, diminutive John? Little John? Jenkins? Jack. I'm a John so this is something I've sometimes wondered about. This was more common when I was a little kid (I was born the year Jack Kennedy got his brains blown out)

The main reason I knew that Harry and Henry are the same is Harry Potter fanfic authors sometimes make Henry his legal name instead. Because I guess Harry just isnt a magic enough name 😂

Names being nativized into other languages was a ridiculous thing that I'm glad we stopped doing. Why do we have James, Jacob, Jacques, Seamus, Hamish, Diego, and Giacomo, when they're all the same name? Why the hell do we call the explorer John Cabot when his name was Giovanni Caboto‽
