I wish duolingo did that with the vocabulary matching, it would be so free to put the gender next to the german word but they don't

Sorry if you have already got a video on this but, if not, could you do one on what steps you took to really nail native pronunciation, please? Long time learner of Greek, pronunciation is not bad, perhaps even good, but laughably far from native. Thanks!

Reality is, getting the noun-genders right all the time is damn near impossible when you learn German as a foreign language. I know a lot of people who have lived here for years, speak pretty much perfect German but the thing that gives it away that they are not native speakers is almost always the frequent use of wrong articles (frequent in comparison to native speakers). And since even native speakers make mistakes or are confused about the gender of words sometimes, you really don’t need to stress about it too much tbh 😅

Norwegian has three genders. I’m a gen 2 speaker with my mom gen 1. I remembered the equivalent of das haus = huset. If it did sound right with the check I’d back track and correct it in my head. Mannen. En = ein. Masculine. Boka a = ei = eine. Feminine. Osv.

My English speaking students really struggle with this, especially when I teach them the declination (changes by case). Practice is good! Reading is king. Make sentences using the newly learned words.
