Just howitzer maintenance here. They’re servicing the howitzer, they take this off to re- lube the threads. There’s a rubber and metal seal there that needs to be replaced every six months to prevent leak that can lead to inaccurate firing. Just howitzer maintanance. I did this for 14 years

A mystery? :
It reduces the flash from the gun to make it harder to spot. No reason to remove it unless they have had a barrel strike and damaged it.

It’s stuck solid as it has not been taken off in a while. Poor maintenance. Also, issued staves (metal bars) should be used to remove it….AS90 gunner for 24 years.

This is to clean the cannon itself. Many SPH's require you to take the muzzle breaks off in order to take the bore evac completely off for cleaning.

Having had to sit and watch this IRL it’s not uncommon. They clean the bore evac, run the bore for pits etc, reseal it and boresight it. Nap Quality: 8/10

you remove the muzzle in order to clean it, and clean the Barrel, has to be done regularly (been artilery for 30 years)
