@faking.cancer.expert: What's the most physical pain you've ever felt and what's the story? Mine are all from 15 years ago when I got cancer in college. Bone marrow biopsy takes first place for me, what about you? #storytime #cancersurvivor #question #pain #fyp

Gallbladder attack. Didn’t cry through childbirth with my girls but was in tears with the gallbladder attack. So bad it had to be removed.

I had a house fire where I had to jump 30 feet out a third story window almost 4 years ago when I was 23. I broke my spine, both feet, and I got 2nd degree burns on the front of my legs from my knee down. the burns were the worst pain in my life and the hospital was for some reason very bad at controlling my pain. I remember screaming in the ambulance that my legs were on fire. The worst part is when they would debride and clean them! Literally used rough cloth to scrub them to promote new growth. Felt like I was being burned all over again and they would burn for hours afterwards. I have no idea why but I would have to fight for pain management almost everytime they cleaned my burns (2x a day) depending on the nurse. I still have trauma from being in that amount of pain for about two weeks before it got a little better

The worst pain I feel like someone can experience is nerve pain. There’s no greater pain than feeling the pain from the nerve itself. People feel pain from the receptors and nerve endings, and none of that touches pain from the nerve itself.

An unmedicated uterine biopsy was the most painful (testing for cancer which, yep, I had) and then having CRPS after surgery for a crushed leg, ankle, and foot.

I had my hip replaced at 30. they do a nerve block so when you wake, you can't feel it immediately and they can get you standing without issues. my nerve block failed. when you wake you start to move. I was immediately in 10/10 pain upon waking. also I had a post op infection after my hysterectomy and needed a whole lot of necrotic tissue removed. the hospital pain team never came to see me so my pain wasn't managed. that was 10/10 and I cracked a tooth from gritting my teeth.

Dislocated knee. Deep dull ache all the way through the leg, caused nerve damage and my leg still feels weird sometimes all the way down to my toes despite that happening well over a decade ago.

Honestly really bad period pain. Like I’ve broken limbs, had surgery and had to have my bones physically forced back into place, but the pain that sticks with me is the worst period pain I’ve experienced.

In order 1) Kidney stones - passing those things was horrific, maybe an 8. I managed to avoid the hospital but I regret not going for decent pain relief 2) Endo pain every month, might get 5 days a month where im not in pain. The rest of the time its between a 4 and a 7. 3) Childbirth, no explanation needed
