@painacademy: Your pain might not be coming from your back — it could be coming from your brain. In one study, scientists tracked people with back injuries for a year. They found that two brain regions — the medial prefrontal cortex and the nucleus accumbens — started talking to each other more in people who stayed in pain. That overcommunication could predict with 85% accuracy who would still be hurting a year later. Your body healed. But your brain kept expecting pain. The good news? The brain can unlearn it. That’s what we teach in the Movement Program. Link in bio. #painacademy #chronicpain #neuroplasticity #HealingJourney #painrelief
Mine definitely did not turn off. In fact, it further magnified in amplified.

As part of the control, did they note the actual injuries and see if the brain activity correlated with certain types of injury?

So how do you get those two parts of the brain to stop communicating so much?

So if these two parts of the brain are communicating with some people what tools can be used to switch that off? Or are they just predisposed to chronic pain?

I'd had a handful of orthopedic injuries over the years with no long-term pain issues. Then in 2022, I fell from standing and had 10 fractures between both lower legs. I developed CRPS in my right leg and have been dealing with it since. Nothing has worked to fix the pain other than a trial of a spinal cord stimulator. It's been a nightmare.

So my childhood trauma re-wrote my brain to ensure maximum pain forever? 🤦🏻♀️😆 awesome.

I understand the concept- however looking at the MRI results might lead to even more information- perhaps the brain knows something “we don’t know” perhaps it’s aware the injury is going to be more long term or it knows the body cannot heal it? I’d be very curious to see the MRI results to see if they correlate at all with chronic pain numbers. I have chronic pain but I also have specific mechanical reasons for my pain. Injuries that didn’t heal right, trapped nerves that are being pressed on constantly, misalignment in my foot leading me to walk crooked. I’m not trying to “bean soup” this video- but I am curious if the body responds this way for a reason at least some of the time. I get sick of people thinking that my pain is either central nervous system, pain or pain that was created in my brain when I know that my imaging reports show damage that would cause any normal person pain. It’s chronic but it’s also acute. 😭 And it’s exhausting and it builds on itself creating more issues- limping for example caused me to throw my back out.
