Not true. I'm a seasoned Tretinoin user. Been using it since I was 13. I'm 30yrs old now. I have actually developed tolerance to it so I don't use the sandwich method anymore. I can apply it directly to my skin. I even sometimes use a chemical exfoliant before applying it. What the dermatologists are saying is that if u can tolerate it even without the sandwich method or able to tolerate more than pea-sized, it's more than ok. In fact, it's more efficacious if u can use it directly to your skin & more frequently (as long as u can tolerate it, which my skin can). I'm 30 now & I absolutely have glass skin, clear & no wrinkles. I have no botox as well.

I hear good reviews and some bad. I’ve been using it for 3 months. HUGE difference. Just be smart about it. Built up, don’t start everyday. Start at once a week and built up for 2 months then every other day till daily. Oh, and always do it after(!) your night cream. Also SPF when you go into the sunlight

its apparently reccomended to use only a pea size, but that barely covers one cheek of my face. i end up having to use more. in saying that, i get no reaction, no redness, no peeling or drying. i wonder if im wasting my time and $$$$

I can use 0.1% Tret with no moisturizer or anything else in the evening and just focus on barrier health in the morning. This is a tip that I learned from people who have been using it since the 80s. I was literally surprised that it did not dry me out. The philosophy behind it is that applying a moisturizer over it can drive it deeper into the skin and exacerbate the side effects.

I don't believe it's about using it WRONG it's about what method works for you. You can use it on wet skin that's if you can tolerate it if you've gone 6 months no issue on dry skin. It's like when ppl say no acids & Tret you can it's again based on how ur skin can tolerate it.

It's what happened to me lol. My doctor, a general practitioner, not even a dermatologist, gave me a tretinoin+clindamycin mix. I used it for two years. The only instructions he gave me was to use a "thin" layer to the whole face. And so I applied what seems to be thin layers of tret to my face. COMPLETELY destroyed my skin. For those 2 years, my acne got worse and worse. My skin is basically irreparable right now
