fun fact , the brain doesn't have nerve endings, its the reason why some brain surgeries can be don while the PT is awake , the brain is more like tofu and is easily maluable, think of it like semi soft bread dough , its held together by membranes and it floats around in your skull in cerebral fluid. :)

I see people in this comments section being scared because she’s awake. she’s awake and playing an instrument so the surgeons know if they messed with a part of her brain that knows what to play and how to play it. most musicians or singers do this during brain surgery. also, the brain doesn’t have any pain receptors, so this is painless most times.

just to clear things up, the brain can’t feel any pain. So, they have you awake when they are preforming brain surgery.
