Japan already offers 90 days visa-free to many nationalities, but this new visa lets you stay for up to 6 months — which is great for anyone wanting a longer experience. The requirements are quite high though, and I reckon landlords will want to see a proper visa before renting long-term accommodation. That said, I’d really recommend Japan. Tokyo and Osaka are incredible cities to live and work from — hopefully the visa becomes a bit more accessible in the future.
