My friends bought a house from an older woman. As soon as she handed over the keys she told them there was original hardwood under all the carpet. She was widowed in the 80's with 5 kids. She said, "I just knew the kids would ruin them, so I had them covered." 10/10.

The giant crack at the very end is concerning. I would definitely find someone who can restore the floor. They need to carefully remove the tiles and investigate what’s going on underneath.
