@constructionbarstool: Messing up in construction can cost time, money, and reputation. Whether it’s a wrong measurement, a bad material order, or miscommunication on the job site, one mistake can set a whole project back. But screwing up is also part of learning—every experienced builder has a story about a job that went sideways. The key is owning the mistake, fixing it fast, and figuring out how to make sure it never happens again. In construction, how you handle failure says more about your skill and professionalism than how perfectly you do the easy jobs. #construction #viral #fuckup #work #job

Just started working at a junkyard. Sold a 5 speed civic transmission then a couple days later he brings it back. I give him the refund and he brings the trans inside. Go to check it and it was his old broken transmission ☠️☠

I’ve been fucking up all week. Lost my work van for it. Might be on reduced hours. Just found out my wife’s pregnant. Feels like I’m being crushed by this weight of failure

Not me but a coworker. The form carpenter who set the first story forms of the condo we were building was 2 1/2 inches too high. Each floor is several hundred yards of concrete mind you, so it completely changed the original design. The architects had to completely redesign the building.

I once cost my company 10,000+ dollars because I trusted that the tag had the amount of material it said it did instead of running the counter just in case 💀💀

My husband manages the production crews for home insulation, among other things. We used our employee discount to have our home insulated by one of his crews. They essentially drill holes on the outside of your house and blow the insulation into the walls. I work from home so I was working while the crew worked on my house and during one of my meetings they blew through the drywall and filled my office with cellulose insulation…with me still in it. They were genuinely scared to call the boss man (ny husband) and tell him that they busted our wall and coated his wife in cellulose. I laughed so hard and was pretty okay with it because I’ve been asking him to help me repaint that room and now we had to because we had to hang all new drywall 😁

I had a 3 week long out of town remote survey project, camper and sxs, tens of thousands in costs and logistics, I accidentally deleted half the data the day I got back. Fortunately my boss loved me and he over built that bid to the sky anyway.
