My anxiety starts about a week ahead of time and is awful.

I am literally sick the entire week before my scans. And it seems the more I try not to be the worse it is. I get my results on Mychart the afternoon of my scans but don’t see my oncologist until two days after. By which time I have read and reread my results no less than 100 times making sure I’m not missing anything! Scanxiety is awful!!!

Where we live in the UK, there is always a three to four week wait for ct results. It’s harrowing.

I have had 1.5 litres of fluid drained off my heart and anxiously awaiting if the fluid is cancerous or not, my mental health is fried, before this the stage 4 cancer was responding well to treatment, what are your thoughts?

I don't fear the scan, I fear the consultation and the result. But, no matter what. You cannot change the outcome. If there is cancer present, I'd rather know and that it can be dealt with before I have any symptoms, which is usually too late.

I get anxious before, but I’ll be more anxious when I stop getting them. 41/2 years down, 6 months(?) to go.

Excellent timing. I’m on a 3-month scan monitoring plan. First one is next week. I thought I was doing ok but I’m starting to feel increasingly anxious.

I’d take scanxiety any day over my doctor telling me they don’t do scans once deemed NED. Fighting to get scans for preventative care is just ridiculous

Sometimes I wish I couldn't see my results on my chart before I see my doctor.

I have scanxiety so bad. Also it doesn’t help that my oncologist makes me wait an entire month for the results. And even then I have to harass his office the entire time. It’s absolutely maddening waiting on results.

Sooo right. I could look at my portal before I went to the doctor, but I choose not to and I always ask her from the very beginning. Tell me the results first and the small talk after.

Always have the scanxiety, use breathing techniques to help! My oncologist won’t release the results to mychart until he talks to me
