I was misdiagnosed (fibromyalgia, autoimmune, chronic urticaria, mental health issues, POTS, exercise-induced asthma, “getting old,” “being a woman”… the list goes on). I was dismissed, told to just “push through.” But when you live with chronic illness, sometimes even surviving another day feels like a quiet act of courage. I created this Chronically Perfect Paula to remind myself, and anyone else fighting invisible battles, that even in the hardest seasons, there’s still beauty worth holding onto. My main page, @practicallyperfectfamily on insta, has been my home for laughter, parenting, and chaos…but I didn’t want to burden that space with the heavy, unfiltered truth of chronic illness. So I made this page…a place to exhale. And then, this week… @taylorswift liked my reel. 🎤💫 and i quickly realized how many chronic illness Swifties there are!!!!!!! It might sound small, but to me it was huge. She’s been the soundtrack that’s carried me through hospital stays, sleepless nights, and the moments I thought I’d lost myself (check out my other posts for even more of the parallels) 🎶 So if you’re in the thick of it right now …waiting for answers, feeling invisible, or losing hope …please know this: You are still here.
