I have my first boyfriend at 23 and was SO nervous to tell my mom that I wanted to get on birth control just in case something happened in the moment and we didn’t have it. I felt like I had to clarify that I wasn’t gonna just ‘give it away’ (although I don’t judge women doing whatever they want with their own bodies and being sexually active; I’m actually envious of the amount of comfort with their own bodies that it takes) and she laughed and was like, ‘Baby, I literally don’t care. It’s natural and you’re being responsible.’ 😂
