Go. To your local news company!! Contact your state representative as well, that’s what they’re there for! We had a landlord not want to fix a gas valve to the house, we went to representative and they were there the next day. If they’re doing this to you they’re doing it to their other tenants as well. This management company needs to be held accountable. No family deserves this. 💔 Negligence like this should NOT be ignored. Accountability is long overdue! They can delete reviews, but they can’t delete the truth. You can’t cover up mold with excuses and they need to do something about this NOW. Please share her story. This is ridiculous! You look into laws in your state but you can put rent into like an escrow acct until they fix the issue especially in a situation where the house is uninhabitable

There is something called Escrow. You can go to your courthouse and tell them you want to open a case. Basically you pay your monthly rent to the courthouse it goes into a file and they set a court date. At the court date you will present everything (a lawyer would be helpful) the judge will probably set a continuance so the landlord can complete work or fix things. Then once everything is completed and you go back to court the judge will take all that money that you have been paying to Escrow and will decide if the landlord gets all of it or if you should get all of it. Usually the money is split between the landlord and tenant. Now this was how I had to do it when I lived in Maryland. Idk if every state does this. My court dates and repairs went on for an entire year. But at the end of all of it the judge gave us a little over half of it back which was thousands. We probably could have gotten more if we had a lawyer. We had to navigate and figure everything out on our own and it was hard but a learning experience. I noticed others in the courtroom who had lawyers seemed to do better. But it is totally doable without one. Anything that was ruined because of this I would list with prices if you have receipts save them. Also if you missed work over all this and things you have to pay out of pocket due to all this. And if the landlord tries to fix things half a55ed and they aren’t done right they will have to redo it. An actual inspector for the court came out to our apartment so he saw all kinds of violations and they were written up and they had 30 days to fix them. But my apartment at this point was livable again so we had to deal with maintenance coming and going. Anyway we took that money from court and moved so quick. Good luck I’m so sorry mold sucks!

Good luck, I would recommend you send them an email with threats of lawsuits. You can easily make it sound professional. You are without a doubt not in the wrong. Since you are renting this is the one benefit you have. To not be responsible for the property… call, email and nag DAILY! All you need it motivation! Do not give up, call the city hall and ask questions.

Hire an attorney if you were renting a home that is untenable and you are required to stay in a hotel they have to pay for it. They don’t have another option.

You can call your state board like the place where your attorneys have to go test and they should be able to find you a pro bono or contingency attorney
