Went to the office today and did no different to what I’ll be doing at home tomorrow 🤷🏼‍♀️except I’ve wasted over an hour today getting to and from work, spent money on transport, brought food because I didn’t have enough with me…. All these big buildings in the city aren’t needed and that upsets the landlords

Who in westpac decided this was worth going to court over. Madness!

This could help with the housing crisis.. the govt should incentivise businesses for more WFH so people can move further from the city hubs

Sorry forgot to mention that she offered a compromise of working the two office days from Bowral Westpac rather than Kogorah Westpac (which got rejected)

Considering the amount of offshore employees for Westpac and other banks, to deny WFH is utterly diabolical

Watch this space. Her role will be restructured out in the next restructure. Corporates are bullies 😏

Good for her. And don’t get me wrong! I like going into the office! But I am 100% supporting staff to be the best versions of themselves!

If she does her work from home is efficient and displays all the right behaviours why not let her wfh. It’s ludicrous.

So many workplaces are not flexible enough for mothers doing it mostly by themselves

Do people watch the news? Our birth rate is dropping. Young people can’t afford to live near the city. Having a job used to be something you had to support your family. Now your family exists to support the shareholders. We can not continue operating as we once did, especially if we want families to flourish. What’s our options? Live in an apartment, which is all young people can afford, close to work and have no space to have kids? Or move somewhere further out but have daycare raise our children and spend 3 hours commuting each day? It’s time for people to accept wfh and flexible work is the new status quo.

No idea why anyone would refuse someone that’s worked from home for so long. And if your work doesn’t need you to come into work, stay home. It’s much better anyway

Lucky her but everyone knew it was a temporary fixture from Covid - why the heck would you go and buy a house out rural that is so risky!
