How I build with Claude 👇 Academy in bio 🔗 Making an object fly along a path on scroll, step by step: 1. Forget JavaScript animation for this. CSS has a motion path built in and almost nobody uses it. 2. Draw the arc in any vector tool, export the SVG, copy the d attribute out of it. 3. On the element: offset-path: path('M0,400 C300,200 700,150 1200,300'), offset-rotate: auto, offset-distance: 0%. 4. offset-rotate: auto is the whole trick. The object turns to follow the curve on its own, so a nose always points where it is going. 5. Drive it with ScrollTrigger: gsap.to(el, { offsetDistance: '100%', ease: 'none', scrollTrigger: { trigger: section, start: 'top top', end: '+=2000', scrub: 1 } }). 6. Coordinates in the path are unitless and map to the element's own coordinate space, so wrap it in a fixed size container or the curve drifts on resize. 7. The cutout: transparent PNG, then filter: drop-shadow(0 24px 36px rgba(0,0,0,0.45)). drop-shadow hugs the silhouette, box-shadow draws a rectangle. Full bleed photography behind it: 8. object-fit: cover plus object-position: 60% 40%. That second value is what keeps the subject framed when the viewport changes shape. Default centre crops the wrong thing on every phone. 9. Height in 100svh, never 100vh, or mobile browser chrome eats the bottom. 10. Legibility without a grey scrim over everything: text-shadow: 0 2px 24px rgba(0,0,0,0.55) on the headline. It darkens only behind the letters, so the photograph stays clean everywhere else. Composition: 11. Headline top left, body copy bottom right, subject in the middle. That diagonal is what makes the eye travel across the frame instead of stopping at the top. The full prompt behind this build goes in the Academy soon. Save this if you build with photography ✈️ #claude #buildinpublic #webdesign #motion #fyp
