because 90% of the time it can be fixed, but only if both people are willing to fix it. it sucks to be the person who is always willing to put in the work for those you love and care about

To me it means, I love you so much that I’m willing to respect where you’re at and stop forcing you to meet me where I’m at. It’s my final act of love for you - to respect where you’re at over my desire to be loved and chosen by you!

Missing them is the proof they mattered. Letting them go is the proof you matter too

The depth a partner can grow and deepen the connection is directly correlated to the truth about themselves they can face without running away. Empaths cannot “hate” or “lose love” for someone that they loved truly. Excepting you will always love them but they will not be in your life anymore is key. I made a lot of progress when I stopped “trying to get over them”. Don’t let them change you. Keep putting that pure love out in the universe, it will attract someone that loves the same and has been looking for you forever

Yes things can be fixed 100% but if that person doesn’t care enough… you have to let them go… their behavior is telling you they don’t care as much as you do… if they don’t respect the relationship, it’s a wraps no matter what.

I'm beginning to understand that if I want to be in any relationship, I have to remove my expectations. express how I feel, if something doesn't sit right with me, and if they don't change, no expectation. I remove myself.

I hate the saying "if it's meant to be set them free it they come come back it's yours". That's just a lousy way of comforting yourself to give up. Nothing comes without work. You have to choose to be with someone (this is only if both people want it-you can't force someone to choose you)

Maybe final act of love applies to unrequited love? People who finally learned to give all the love back to themselves and let go or not forcing anything that doesn’t want them?

Same, but it’s actually quite irritating. I wishhh I could just let people go but it nags at my whole soul.

This reframing is v helpful. That’s always been my Achilles heel bc I rlly do work hard to defend and protect my personal relationships and will persist to the point of exhaustion. Ty for explaining this!

Learning to be grateful for the experience. Grateful for having the opportunity to have loved and lost rather to have never loved at all. This is where I am trying to get to.

I will never let go, but I will move on. The memories, the love, the joy will always be mine but they may not be...and that's ok.

if you add one more word to it the whole meaning changes and it makes more sense. “as a final act of love for MYSELF i let you go” then boom

I was trying to articulate this this morning! I feel the same way, it always seems like a waste to just end something. Not only is it the expectation but it’s also letting go of hoping they want to fix it.

It’s loving someone & letting them be free to do WHATEVER it is that they rather be doing. If you love someone, you don’t hold on tight to them. The final act of love is releasing them to find what would make them happy. It’s also YOUR final act because you’d be making space for what you truly want.
