Unofficially imperial units are still kinda used in Ireland . Like you could go into a butcher and order a pound of meat , but what is sold is 454g “officially” . Ditto hardware stores, if you asked for something in square yards , the staff would sell you the equivalent M2 amount. It’s fading tho and generally a boomer thing .
