@mahreen.dasoo: Did I waste my money coming to Japan? This is the question I asked myself as I walked the streets of Tokyo one last time to stand in line for nearly an hour for Matcha. Some may say yes. I missed iconic spots like Mount Fuji due to poor visibility and I didn’t cross every attraction off my chrecklist but what it taught me was invaluable. Travelling with a now 4 and a half year old made me realize that going forward Family trips need to focus more on shared moments and new experiences vs a jam packed itinerary. What filled my cup was discovering Japan through her eyes. It was in the little things. From her obsession with their public transportation system to her intrigue around smart toilets to her love for 7-11 smoothies. She experienced so many things for the first time, like Disney, and Universal and Team labs. She ate ramen with chopsticks, learned how to make sushi and matcha. She’d dance in the street, along the river and in the train stations just happy she gets to spend time with mommy and daddy 24/7 for two weeks. Something we do not have the luxury of having at home. It made me realize that money spent on creating lasting memories with your little ones is always money well spent. So book that flight, execute your imperfect itinerary and focus on the wonder in their eyes instead of your check list. I promise it’s the best redirection 🤍 #familytravel #canadianmom #torontomom #travel #japantravel
