Lune sitting here, hits harder when you remember one of the first scenes, when she was talking with Gustave, telling him that as long as one stands, their fight wasn't over. She finally sits, accepting her defeat. Sandfall really cooked here.

Of all of them, Luna’s reaction hurt me the most. It filled me with guilt for choosing this ending. Because unlike the others, she wanted so desperately to live. She dreamed of seeing Maelle paint another reality into their world. Gustave had wanted to die from the beginning. Maelle was ready to sacrifice herself for her brother. Sciel longed for death so deeply that she had even tried to take her own life. And Verso—well, there are no words for how much he wanted to die. But Luna… Luna was different. She burned with a fierce love for life. From the start, she wanted to fight for it. Yet in the end, nothing was ever truly her choice—not when her family made every decision for her, not even when she died. That’s why, of all of them, Luna’s fate broke me the most.

The way people treat the characters of the painting as if they aren't "real" once they find out they're painted makes me sad. You can't accept Verso's ending and not also accept that they have destroyed an entire world and all it's people. If we were all in a painting, would we be any less human? You'll sympathise with Verso, who is painted, in Maelles ending, but not with the entire population of the painting. He deserved that look for his decision, but also, it was the best for Maelle and it let him rest after a lifetime of suffering.

Verso is a lying sniveling snake who is so selfish he can even romance party members knowing he plans on killing them, providing them false hope only for his own personal gain. Unfortunately, he does have the better ending. I hate they made me side with him.

to them, it's not just a painting but their whole world. the idea of her loved ones coming back to her with literally no price must have been crazy. then one person destroys it all for 'real' people. what's real and what's not tho?

Penso da seguinte forma: escolheu esse final, desligue o vídeo game e quebre o jogo, isso é literalmente o que tu escolheu, e destruição daquele mundo em que você estava criando uma história, se acaba e tu vai jogar novamente, explorar o mundo, está sendo hipócrita com suas próprias decisões

I prefer Maelles ending. Imagine the world we live in is nothing more than a canvas, you have a great life, family, friends then suddenly shattered by a great fracture, where a yearly gommage occurs. After more than 20 years, your memories of the real world return, and you realize you are scarred, mute, alone and forsaken by your own family. What would you do then?
