@itvnews: A young boy from Bath born with a rare genetic condition can now breathe, eat and swallow independently after surgeons rebuilt his jaw using bone from his ribs. William Tuckwell was born with Treacher Collins syndrome, a condition which affects the development of bones and tissues in the face. The condition had severely impacted his ability to perform basic functions that most people take for granted. But using a small part of his ribs, a team at Bristol Children’s Hospital have been able to lengthen his jaw, allowing him to breathe and eat unaided for the first time.
