@leahshomestead: Sometimes fertility issues in rabbits aren’t about the buck — they’re about the gut. Our Silver Fox doe wasn’t getting pregnant and even had runny poop. We started limiting her pellets so she’d eat more hay, and within a week her digestion improved… and now she’s nesting! Healthy gut = healthy fertility. If your doe’s struggling, try looking at what she’s eating before assuming something else is wrong #M#MeatRabbitsH#HomesteadLifeR#RabbitBreedingR#RootsAndRabbitsHomesteadHomesteadTips
One of the things I love about learning about animals (such as why their getting fat hinders getting pregnant) is that it OBJECTIFIES issues that makes it easier to understand HUMAN problems & behavior. Like, an overweight rabbit woman not being able to reproduce could well suggest why men don't find overweight HUMAN women as ideal for impregnating. Thus, we're naturally more inclined to try to do so with maximally young, healthy, genetically-superior females that are capable of readily producing similarly-healthy babies.

I grew up with cows and my mom added goats a few years back. Both can have fertility issues if they get too fat 😂 Too much love can be an issue it turns out
