When companies like Flock and LE agencies push installations of ALPR cameras, even against local laws and regulation, products like this should be 100% legal. Or we should just accept that our privacy is limited to a smaller and smaller circle every year.

As someone who works for a tolling company none of these products work nor do the tinted covers. We take pics in both IR and normal HD. Plus the image review tools can manipulate the image to get a positive ID on the plates.

What’s funny is they literally filmed applying it on with a camera, and you can still see it in the video. Then took out another camera to take a picture, but were literally already watching a video from a camera. They’re betting on people not realizing that the video they’re watching was produced with a camera.

In Toronto they just put extremely heavily tinted covers over the plates and drive around with impunity. I really don't understand why TPS are too lazy to pull them over.
