I would be getting a new u joint if I am having the differential done. so pull it and toss it. takes maybe 5 minutes to pull.

Not necessarily, how about some more context. If im broke down along the road and limping it home or if im in a shop with no jack,torches,puller and the shaft has half rounds im pulling half rounds instead of full rounds, you of all people should know how miserable full rounds can be to get out and then expect them to try that crap with the right tools, especially if im sending it to a shop to be rebuilt that has all the tools to work on getting it out and he better be smart enough to throw a new joint in when he put the pinion seal in..

How come trucks don’t use a class 9c u-joint spider assembly that is a simple bolt on, all of my high horsepower 4wd tractors use these.
