My father's friend was the groundsman at Anfield years ago. I remember him telling me they had to stop the spreading of ashes in the kop goal as it had created a mound.

I could be wrong but I think I remember Bill Shankly once said there is a massive casket behind the Kop goal where many fans ashes are kept.

worth noting that ashes destroy and kills the grass. Someone did it at Fratton Park when pompey got promoted two yrs ago. Apparently Groundsman was not a happy bunny

my dad's ashes were scattered in the sea near where we had a lot of family holidays. my brother walked over some big rocks, wind changed when he did the scatter, he moved to avoid the blowback and nearly fell and injured himself. we all laughed about it. dad would have like it lol
