In Hebrew, Mekhashepha , the word that is translated as witch now, had a different meaning. It meant someone who practiced magic but not devil worship or making pacts with the devil.

Thanks for sharing; I love your content! Something fascinating I learned in my supernatural history course was the English didn't consider witchcraft a religious crime but one against the crown, which is why those convicted were hanged not burned in this part of Europe.
