I begged my abuser to stay. I was so conditioned into thinking the abuse was love that it nearly killed me when he left. Looking back I’m so lucky that he didn’t want me anymore and I was able to have a clean break

They also use it as a way to control you throughout the relationship. So you never know when they’re serious and when they’re just manipulating you to weaken you.

The victim stays for trash and the abuser leaves the prize, but them leaving you makes it feel like the opposite. They program us to feel that way about ourselves and it takes so much work to rebuild our self-worth.

This definitely needs more awareness! He was the one that left me after 5 years. I reacted to his abuse towards me. Wasn’t my best reaction & I became the worst version of myself overtime. but to this very day, I still wish I was the one that ended it, not him.

I caught mine cheating and he left to be with her and blocked me for a few days but it was the most crushing and devastating thing ever. I did everything I could to get back with him 💔😞 I couldn’t accept that he was leaving me even tho I was building the courage to leave him

Thank you for this!!!!!!! This is my reality. He left me for someone else. I truly don’t think I ever would have left him. I’m grateful now, but I still wish I would have had the power.

this. we split up. I got my own house. we havent seen each other in a month but we still call each other at least 6-8 times a day. messages all day. he continues to circulate my mind. he left me. but never left my body.
