That detail is so supportive of Jason's character trait of taking every opportunity to crank up the drama. He understands the theatricality of Batman possibly even better than Nightwing and I love it when writers lean into that.

I also liked that because it shows Jason isn't obsessed with killing the Joker, like most interpretations show him. He proved he could get to the Joker whenever he wants with that. What he has is not a need for revenge, it's daddy issues. He NEEDS Bruce to accept his way isn't right,that doing things his way gets people hurt. And to, of course, acknowledge that he loves Jason and would be willing to bend his rule for Jason. If it was just about killing Joker he could do that any time he wants. It's about Bruce. And I think that got lost in the movie.

I like Jason kidnapping Joker for a length of time more because I like Jason Psychologically fucking with the Joker so much! one of Jason's strengths to me is that he understands where people's insecurities are and how to poke at them

I love the movie but hate the fact they lazily exposite information constantly. There has gotta be a better diagetic way of explaining who Nightwing is than panning over to a random goon and having him explain it like he’s reading the opening sentence of his wiki article.

No bc it's so funny to me to picture Jason during those whole five weeks having the joker just CASUALLY IN HIS CLOSET the whole time having to feed him and shit so he's alive for the meeting with Bruce 😭 Jason making sure the joker stays alive for that entire time period feels so absurd 😂

I find it mildly amusing that while this whole thing is happening, the universe is in the middle of a giant crisis, Bruce has created a system to monitor the JL cause his friends lost his trust so bad, villains have formed their own union in protest, Tim’s dad was just murdered and Bludhaven just got nuked with the presumption Grayson was there and is now dead. Like… dude is going through the absolute wringer at this time.

I always just make a joke to myself that Jasons question isnt about why Bruce hasnt killed Joker its "I ve had him for atleast an hour and he still wont die! I wanted to have this whole thing but the stubborn clown wont die! Why is he still alive?!"

I know it’s a very isolated movie but I really wish they kept at least part of Batman being so in denial that Jason is Red Hood that he goes to multiple heroes who’ve died and come back to ask them about it. Like he KNOWS it’s Jason atp, he just won’t accept it
