@Muhammad yaqub ahmad Bajaj:This magnificent fort might have constructed by the kingdom of Aror اروڑ(near modern Rohriروھڑی), to protect itself against the Persian and nomadic invaders or it might be a great human settlement protected by the craggy walls . The fort real name is Runi Kot رنی not Rani Kot. Runi is a stream that still flows here . The inhabitants might have left the fortified town due to shortage of water when the aforesaid stream began to dry and was not able to provide sufficient water supply to the people.
