Yeah mutual combat is legal, but if I remember correctly - If you do it in public, you can still both be arrested for “Disorderly Conduct”. Moral of the story… not in front of crowds in public spaces.

As soon as someone falls on the ground, the fight is immediately over that’s one of the few stipulations that it has as far as the actual fighting

Don't you have to inform an officer to act as a duel ref? I heard that somewhere and I have no idea if it's true

Do they think TOS and laws are the same? Pretty sure twitch doesn’t allow any sort of physical violence.

I think the cops do step in like once you can tell someone won. Also no weapons allowed! Obviously not from Texas so I could be wrong but I have heard about this before

Texas :
is called mutual combat. as long as you both are standing. once you punch or kick someone on the ground, it is no longer mutual combat.

So to everyone asking: Texas believes in a valid (though not enforceable) handshake deal. So long as both parties are consenting, they are totally in their legal rights to fight. Though you’d need two witnesses to corroborate should one party say it was assault.
