@redconsultant: 3 Characteristics Associated with High Performers being Perceived as Hard to Manage 1. High expectations -they strive for excellence & expect the same from leadership 2. Strong self-awareness - they know their worth, capabilities & strong contribution and dislikes hearing “stay in your lane” 3. Desire for autonomy - thrives on determining how best to perform their work and dislikes micromanagement. Sound familiar? Drop me a comment or 🙋♀️, hit like or save. Thank you! how do I know if I'm an actual high performer or not? I think I'm better at my job than all of the rest of my team...but what if I'm just arrogant?

I THRIVE when I’m left to work independently and quietly. Explaing every single steps slows me down so much.

I have to agree 😭 I have high standards for leadership, which in my mind seem very common sense but I guess not

I struggle when the expectations from leadership for high performers are also much higher than those of their peers. I disengage when expectations are not consistent across the board, especially when I can meet them, but others cannot and they project their shortcomings onto me as if I am the problem.

& the way you manage a high performer, is to humble yourself and realize that you still have things to learn as well. As long as you’re being respected, and the job is getting done you should actually want a high performer because it will make your job easier.

👋 me not getting hired because I told them I made a laminated to do sheet at my last job for opening and closing so expectations were met. I was the manager. 😂

I work at a big tech company, I’ve over performed almost every quarter, and it’s been recognized in various ways. Took a medical LOA and got pipped for it. Super down about it because I love what I do but it’s highly inappropriate

Mediocrity is the norm. It gets rewarded. High performers often are despised by others.

High performance became awesome when I shift to collaborating instead of imposing my way, I do need autonomy, a lot of it…today I get all the autonomy I need by honoring those who came before me
