The issue is that as someone who’s watched him on and off is that people see him as the end all be all for the left & they’ve (unofficially) crowned him as the “Joe Rogan of the left” (to Hasan’s credit he’s rejected this). I think he can be a good starting point for basic leftist views/poltics, ie a cliff notes version of the communist manifesto & other forms of theory, but he shouldn’t be the main news/commentary source for every left leaning person out there.

Im not the biggest fan of hasan or anything, I definitely have my disagreements with him and differing beliefs but i do and always will have to acknowledge what he has done for the left and marginalized communities mainly being the LGBTQ. Hes super bro ish but its massively moved that kind of you frat boy people to the left and they have started to support gay men in their groups. From first hand experience it was mostly him that showed you arent gay if you hang and are friends with gay men. Hes collected a substantial amount of money and donated it to earthquake in turkey, Palestine, labor unions etc. he has at least moved a lot of people to the left and i fear if he wasnt around to do that no one would be and shit would be like 2015-2016 youtube where it almost just Steven Crowder, Charlie Kirk, milo yiannopoulos destroying young brains.
