@practicallyperfectfamily: It’s not fine 🫠🩸💉 Since June, my ferritin’s dropped from 20 → 10.7, iron from 165 → 65, and TSAT from 46% → 18%. Even my red blood count slid from 4.50 → 3.94 and hemoglobin from 13.7 → 12.0. But apparently… ‘Let’s just recheck in three months.’ 🫠 If things keep trending this way, there won’t be much left to recheck. The hardest part? When the specialists — the ones you’re supposed to trust — keep saying everything looks fine. And for me, it’s not just iron. I have a rare condition that makes it hard to absorb oral iron, and it’s critical that my body doesn’t fall too far into depletion. So waiting it out isn’t really an option. Things I’ve been told: • “It’s normal for women to have low iron.” • “There are people with bloodwork way worse than yours.” • “We’re trained to treat horses, not zebras.” #ChronicIllness #RareDisease #swiftie #irondeficiencyanemia #spoonie

Go see a hematologist. They will look more closely at your numbers and give you recommendations.

Every test seems to come back “fine” yet I haven’t been able to work in 16 months & can hardly take care of myself. 😵💫

Felt. my ferritin was a 6 and so was my iron saturation. My hemoglobin was at 11 and they were like oh because of that you’re fine. I finally got referred to a hematologist after I started passing out. my levels kept dropping because I have adenomyosis and was bl**ding beyond normal amounts.

mine wouls slap some iron infusions at me ans recheck in a couple months. finally, after 2 years, i kind of self diagnosed as a stomach acid issue. doc agreed i may be on to something and git me a referral for gi. i just had my upper endoscopy yesterday. waiting on biopsies but it did show inflammation in stomach, duodenum and bottom of esophagus. i think it could be h pylori?? do the baking soda test 🤞🤞
