I do all this and as the days gone by shes becoming less and less interested and playing for shorter times😔 I can’t afford to get a second cat so I just feel bad every day lol

I adopted a cat 8 days ago. She was basically left in a bed to loof and nest. She has been hiding under my bed since I brought her home. Nothing is getting her to come out. She comes out to eat and use the litter box when I’m sleeping, but I think she’s traumatized because she was taken from her only home. She doesn’t act like a cat though. She doesn’t play, groom herself, etc. I don’t know if she’s depressed or what. I need advice to get her out from under the bed and interact with me. I do know to be patient and not force her, let it be on her terms. Looking forward to hearing from you. I can’t think of anyone else to reach out too other than you. Thanks!

I always make sure to allow her to “kill” the toy. Then she literally drags it off somewhere and sits on it! I also put all her toys in a small box on the floor. Every evening when I come home, she goes to the box and selects what she wants to play with.

I build pillow and blanket forts for my cat and use a wand toy. He loves hiding in the tunnels and pouncing out to grab the toy. It’s super engaging for him and so cute. He likes to nap in there once playtime is over. Safe and cozy in his little fort.

My girl’s favorite thing to do is stare! I know when she wants to play or not cuz she’ll run away around a corner and lay down and look from there if she wants to play! She’ll just walk away if she doesn’t

I rotate between different strings, colors, lengths, and textures. I do have issues being able to play with a cat while having a dog that she isn't too fond of around, any advice?
