I hold a race license and here's my opinion. R9 was designed to be an easier bike to ride, for the street, and to meet emissions. Same with the R7. Putting bikes with hundreds more cc's of displacement into the same race class just because it has "similar performance" is idiotic just like putting V/L2 i3 and i4 all in the same class. It's fine for track days but actual competitive racing should have strict class definitions, limits on rider aids if there's a wide model year range, and clear rules about what can and can't be modified. Sloppy class rules suck for everyone because they're inherently unfair.

The hate never made sense to me to begin with? Like the spec sheets are free to look up. It’s better in every single way compared to the R6. People just following whatever their favorite helmet creator told them to think.

I loved adobo motos r9, such a fun bike to ride. id love to get one but id get raised clip ons. slightly too aggressively riding position compared to my 24 636

Everyone I’ve talked to that has an R6 always says they just like that the R6 revs way higher. I get it. I just can’t decide if I prefer the higher revs or all the tech on the R9.
