This perfectly encapsulates the nuances in why I think Cavil is the weakest Superman (not just fault, writing issue)- it was never about being the “manliest”, most stoic, most “perfect”! Real manhood is vulnerability. superMAN- it’s on the name, he’s man; human, so complex but at his core super strives to be kind and caring, he would never let whole building topple or a squirrel die. He is not perfect, but he strives to be good!!!
