Framers should have moved the joist over, or insulated that space before the furring wall was built, which is usually after the roof is on.

gotta admit i feel somewhat knowledgeable on this topic.. could put poly over joist u drilled holes in for vapor barrier but I would suggest holes every 2 ft to ensure no voids in blown in cellulose...

You are happy with their solution you said . Can they explain to you how useless that is without a vapour barrier. What you should have done is a spray foam

useful machine I used one of those to insulate an attic.... just dont drop your phone and lose it for over an hour 😅

We usually just drill a hole and blow that cavity from the top

well how put that joist there?should be 2' from outside of house for running ducting wires etc.
