Whether your nails are real, or they are acrylic, bacteria gets trapped underneath your nail. Not to mention, the client will definitely feel the sensation of long nails. There are techniques that you can NOT perform with long nails in massage therapy. These include the more relaxing techniques like Swedish where you’re using mostly soft palms and fingertips. Do you really want to limit yourself to only using your elbows and forearms? It’s important to ensure that your nails are trimmed as a massage therapist.
