As someone who is also originally from Germany, and have been living in the US for the last 24 years… I left the US last December, and now in Berlin Germany after all this time. I can tell you, you made the right choice. I have not felt this safe in my entire adult life in the US. Germany has its issues going on yes. It has its areas for improvement, absolutely… however coming from the madness of America this is a safe haven for me. Like spiked weights lifted off my shoulders.✨✨

brilliantly put. I left the US in 2020 after watching the changes and shift towards the far right. The UK isn't perfect either and it was the hardest decision I've had to make for myself and my family. After 5 years looking at the US now I am 100% sure it was right.

My wife and I have been traveling internationally for the past 2 1/2 years. After visiting 40+ countries in that time, I can say that no country is perfect. Every country has issues that can be frustrating. For me, it comes down to which country is closest to living up to the values I think are important. Not the U.S. currently.

I want to leave but I gaslight myself thinking it's just panic talking. It doesn't help that none of my friends or family seem as concerned. They're so well adjusted to the toxicity and aren't willing to sacrifice their familiar comfort, even if it means a better life.
