Pretty much a standard job interview. That interview style is a standard interview. If you are lucky you will only have one interview but common 2 have 3.4 interview for the same job.

public service, CSIRO, DST, all have questions supplied by HR & conducted by people who have zero interviewing experience. sorry you experienced that 😞

I also learnt a much easier way that the start method called the “Disney movie” style. The introduction with the villain introduction (aka the problem) then all the action you took as a hero to save the day and finally the happy ending

The questions are designed to create a ranking for those interviewed. Key words stated or missed are evidence for why one candidate was offered over another. It’s important for fairness and transparency for the selection process.
